Rap rivals Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have been tapped to headline two separate star-studded shows in Los Angeles in the lead up to the 2019 BET Awards. The Anaconda hitmaker will hit the Staples Center stage with her Young Money Entertainment label boss Lil Wayne, alongside Tory Lanez, Trippie Redd, and Bri Steves for the 21 June (19) event, held as part of the seventh annual BET Experience at L.A. LIVE concert series. Cardi will then step into the spotlight at the same venue the following day, sharing the bill with her husband Offset's band Migos, Lil Yachty, City Girls, and Lil Baby. The events will culminate with the 2019 BET Awards on 23 June (19). It's not yet known if Nicki and Cardi will both be attending the prizegiving, but the ladies haven't been under the same roof since September (18), when the Bodak Yellow star physically attacked Nicki and hurled a shoe at her while they were both guests at the Harper's Bazaar Icons Party during New York Fashion Week. They subsequently agreed to call a truce in their war of words, which had been brewing for months after they both featured on Migos' 2017 hit MotorSport. Meanwhile, Cardi is joining forces with Nicki's ex, Meek Mill, to perform at a private party on the eve of the Super Bowl this weekend. The two artists have been booked for the invite-only Fanatics bash at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday (02Feb19), when they are reportedly set to team up for a rendition of their 2018 collaboration On Me.
Christina Aguilera is joining the residency stars in Las Vegas. The Genie in a Bottle singer is to headline a "multi-sensory escape" in the theatre Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez previously called home this summer (19). "It's been in talks for a few years now," Christina tells talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. "I'm going to do a residency in Vegas!" The star admits the new gig is perfect for her life as a mother-of-two, adding, "It will be a little easier with the kids. It's less full-on travel." Aguilera is mum to four-year-old daughter Summer and son Max, 11. The singer also announced her new gig, which will begin on 31 May (19) at the Planet Hollywood Resort's Zappos Theater, on Instagram, writing: "Welcome to #TheXperience... a multisensory escape to a world of magic and total freedom." In total, Christina will play an initial run of 16 shows in May, June, September, and October, and tickets go on sale from Friday (01Feb19). "The Xperience is going to be my most ambitious show yet," Christina adds in a press release. "Getting to perform in this adult playground we call Las Vegas is inspiring me to bring forth all of my talents in a mind-blowing theatrical experience - song, dance, visuals and uninterrupted high energy. "For years I have been collecting ideas and concepts that have yet to be implemented on my stages, and Las Vegas is the perfect opportunity for me to collectively showcase my artistry. I cannot wait to bring you into The Xperience."
Kylie Jenner has denied rumors she's pregnant with her second child. The 21-year-old reality star, whose daughter Stormi turns one next month (Feb19), sparked speculation she could be expecting another baby with boyfriend Travis Scott when she tweeted about an "exciting project" she has in the works. "I have something really exciting i get to share soon with you guys! I’ve been cooking this up for awhile i can’t wait to share my new project alreadyyy," she wrote. One fan was quick to jump to conclusions and tweeted Kylie, "Are you pregnant again?" But the Keeping Up With the Kardashians beauty shut down the question, and replied "Noooo lol (laugh out loud)." Despite Kylie's giggling response to the question, she admitted in a Snapchat Q&A session last October (18) that she is already thinking about further expanding her family. "Am I going to have another baby?" she mused. "I want another baby but, 'When?' is the question and I'm definitely not ready right this second. I don't know when I will be, but yeah, when I do, I would love to share more of that with you guys." Kylie famously kept her entire pregnancy a secret the first time around, and only confirmed the speculation when she announced Stormi's birth and shared pictures and video footage of her when she was expecting. A source close to the reality star previously said that while Kylie and Travis are keen to have another baby, the couple is planning to wait until the end of the rapper's Astroworld Tour in March before they start trying. "Kylie and Travis are going to wait until he's finished his tour before trying for another baby," the source told Entertainment Tonight. "They want to have another child soon so it's close in age to Stormi, but they do not want to do this while he's busy on the road."
Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino and Tame Impala have been confirmed as headliners for the 2019 Coachella festival. Organisers for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California announced the line-up for the 2019 edition on Wednesday night (02Jan19), which takes place across two consecutive weekends in April (19), revealing that This Is America hitmaker Childish Gambino would be topping the bill on the Fridays, Australian band Tame Impala on the Saturdays, while Ariana will close the festival on the Sundays. "Humbled and excited as all hell @coachella (cactus) thank u," the Thank U, Next singer tweeted after she shared the 2019 poster. Other acts on the bill include Solange Knowles, Janelle Monae, The 1975, Diplo, J Balvin, Khalid, Kacey Musgraves, Wiz Khalifa, Kid Cudi and Jaden Smith. The festival will mark one of Childish Gambino's biggest final shows, as the rapper and actor, real name Donald Glover, plans to retire the stage moniker after one final album and close that chapter in his life as a musician. He had been heavily rumoured to headline the 2019 festival alongside Justin Timberlake and Rihanna. There was also speculation that Stronger rapper Kanye West would be returning to the event, which he previously headlined in 2011. However, TMZ.com reported on Wednesday that he scrapped negotiations with production officials at Goldenvoice after failing to reach an agreement over his stage set-up. The report suggested he did not want to stick to the traditional static rectangular platform, branding it "artistically limiting", and wanted instead to bring in his own contraption, but they declined to give in to his demands and talks fell through. The 2019 festival takes place on 12-14 April and 19-21 April.
