Nick Jonas won Priyanka Chopra over by showing the actress he "respects" her. The former Quantico actress, who is set to marry the singer following a whirlwind romance, opened up on what women should look for when searching for Mr. Right using dating apps. And at the Bumble India launch in New York City on Monday night (29Oct18), she shared how Nick, 26, won her over. “Truly this is what worked for me, he has to be someone who respects you,” Priyanka told People at the event held at Gramercy Park Hotel Rooftop. “By that, I don’t mean makes coffee for you, not that. But someone who respects the hard work you put into your life. “Who respects that if his work is important, so is yours,” she continued. “Or if he makes choices that are important to him, so is your opinion. That’s respect, and that’s incredible to have.” Priyanka went on to explain it makes everything "so easy" in a relationship "because you trust each other." And she added that women shouldn't "settle for less than that.” The Baywatch star is an investor in Bumble India and is also bringing Bumble BFF, the friendship version, and Bumble Bizz, for networking, to her home country. Her comments come days after she celebrated her bridal shower at the Tiffany & Co. Blue Box Cafe in New York City. Guests included members of both Priyanka and Nick's family, and friends including Lupita Nyong’o and Kelly Ripa. Fiance Nick was travelling and was unable to attend the shower which featured the star's "favourite foods and cocktails and songs". “This was not a conventional shower, it was a nightclub in Tiffany,” she smiled to People. “There was so much dancing — like five hours of dancing. It was amazing! "It was so special and wonderful. It was such an eclectic, fun, diverse, cool group of women that it just made me so happy."
Ariana Grande is ready to get back on tour following a series of heartbreaks. The 25-year-old singer took to Twitter on Monday (22Oct18) to assure fans she was putting the finishing touches to plans for a tour to promote her new album Sweetener after one follower asked for an update. The fan wrote: "any news about sweetener tour? if not pls don’t stress about it ! we can wait / we want you to be actually ready to go on tour", prompting Ariana to respond: "i’m ready my heart needs it actually (sic). finalizing a few more things but i’m tryna get em dates to u asap." Ariana has had a lot to deal with in the past 17 months, since a bomb attack outside a concert in Manchester, England derailed her Dangerous Woman world tour and cost 22 fans their lives. She split up with her boyfriend, Mac Miller, hooked up with comedian Pete Davidson and became engaged, and then broke up with the Saturday Night Live regular earlier this month (Oct18). She also had to deal with the death of Miller in September (18). Grande recently announced she was taking a break from social media following her "very sad" split from fiance Davidson. "Time to say bye bye again to the internet for just a lil bit," she said last week (ends19Oct18). "It’s hard not to bump news n stuff that I’m not trying to see rn (right now). It’s very sad and we’re all tryin very hard to keep going. love u. and thank u for bein here always." She also revealed she is dealing with anxiety issues that make touring a problem right now. Pete Davidson has scrapped a stand-up gig at Temple University's Comedy Night Live after ending his engagement to Ariana Grande. The comedian has pulled out of the upcoming college show in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania due to "personal reasons". The Saturday Night Live star's romance with the singer fell apart over the weekend (12-14Oct18), and Ariana has already returned her $100,000 engagement ring to her former fiance. The couple confirmed the engagement news in June (18), a month after Davidson and Ariana started dating. Adam Devine will replace Davidson at the Temple University event. Meanwhile, Grande appears to be struggling on the set of her upcoming Wicked 15th anniversary TV special following her latest love split. The pop star reportedly missed the dress rehearsal on Tuesday (16Oct18), a day after returning to work on A Very Wicked Halloween: Celebrating 15 Years on Broadway, which airs on 29 October (18) in America. "Can't believe I almost let my anxiety ruin this for me today!" the singer captioned an Instagram photo of herself in full make-up backstage. "Not today Satan! Not tomorrow or the next day either not no more u can suck my big green d**k (sic)." She went on to promise fans she was going to "sing my heart out and be a big walking vessel of love". But People.com sources claim she was a no-show. Grande, who is a huge fan of the Wizard of Oz prequel musical, will join original Wicked stars Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, and Adam Lambert and Pentatonix for the TV special.
Nicki Minaj has broken her silence following a Friday night (07Sep18) scuffle with rap rival Cardi B. The two MCs clashed at a star-studded Harper's Bazaar party for New York Fashion Week after Cardi accused the Super Bass hitmaker of disrespecting her and her baby daughter, Kulture. At one point, Cardi lunged and reportedly threw a shoe at Minaj, but Nicki declined to press charges and she addressed the drama on her Apple Music Queen Radio show on Beats 1 on Monday, revealing she still felt "humiliated" about their headline-grabbing encounter. "The other night I was a part of something so mortifying, so humiliating to go through in front of upper echelon people - it's not about black or white - people who have their lives together," she said. "I was mortified... I could not believe how humiliated I felt... how we - and I use the term 'we' loosely - made ourselves look." Taking aim at reports suggesting she poked fun at her rival's baby, Nicki added, "I would never discuss anyone's child. "It's so sad for someone to pin that on me. I would never talk about anyone's child or parenting, I don't give a s**t... You know I didn't say or never did talk about anyone's child... I am not a clown, that's clown s**t." Minaj insists she didn't retaliate after Cardi's shoe came flying at her because, "I'm such an ill n**ga, I didn't feel the need to defend myself that night." Security staff at the party escorted a shoeless Cardi out of the venue. The Bodak Yellow star has since confirmed it was a comment Nicki allegedly made about her baby that upset her: "I've let a lot of s**t slide!" she wrote on Sunday (09Sep18) via Instagram. "I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags (money), f**k up the way I eat! "You've threaten other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you'll stop f**kin with them (sic)!! I let you talk big s**t about me!! I addressed you once in person, I addressed you a second time in person, and every time you copped the plea!! "But when you mention my child, you choose to make comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter is when all bets are f**kin off!! I've worked to hard and come too far to let anybody f**k with my success (sic)!!!!" Cardi previously played down reports of a nasty feud between herself and Nicki, but confessed the two had "issues".
